Which suspension system is suitable for your vehicle?
Choosing the right suspension depends on three factors: vehicle and model series, intended use (everyday driving, street racing, club racing), and vehicle inspection requirements. Friedrich AMS provides honest advice: no system is recommended that doesn't suit the vehicle and the intended use.
Sport springs & sport shock absorbers
Sport springs combined with suitable standard or sport shock absorbers are the simplest, most practical, and most road-legal solution. They lower the vehicle by 20–40 mm, improve road holding, and do not compromise everyday comfort. Ideal for vehicles used daily that are intended to have a more dynamic look and feel.

Coilover suspension – suitable for street racing
The coilover suspension is height-adjustable: spring preload and damping can be adjusted separately, and height and preload can be individually customized. Friedrich AMS installs street-legal coilover suspensions that can be registered in accordance with the Swiss vehicle inspection authority (MFK) and are equally suitable for everyday driving and street racing.

Lowering the suspension doesn't just change the look. The lower center of gravity improves road holding, reduces body roll, and gives the vehicle more direct handling. What many underestimate: Lowering the suspension also changes camber, toe, and caster – making a professional wheel alignment afterward mandatory, not optional.
MFK conformity for lowered suspensions in Switzerland
In Switzerland, lowering kits are compliant with the vehicle inspection (MFK) if the minimum ground clearance is maintained, wheel coverage is ensured, and the suspension is registered as an accessory or homologated with a certificate. Friedrich AMS is familiar with the requirements of the Zurich Cantonal Road Traffic Office – and only implements lowering kits in such a way that your vehicle will not cause any surprises at the next vehicle inspection.

Sturz ist die Neigung des Rades gegenüber der Senkrechten negativer Sturz verbessert die Kurventraktion, zu viel Sturz verschleisst die Reifeninnenkante. Spur beschreibt den Winkel der Räder in Fahrtrichtung, falsche Spur lässt das Fahrzeug ziehen und frisst Reifen. Nachlauf ist der Selbstzentrierungswinkel der Lenkung er beeinflusst Geradeauslauf und Lenkrückmeldung. Alle drei Werte werden bei Friedrich AMS mit der 4-Rad-Anlage exakt gemessen und eingestellt.

Friedrich AMS has a professional 4-wheel alignment system and adjusts the geometry according to manufacturer specifications or to sport settings, depending on the application. This is mandatory after any suspension work. It is also available as a standalone service for vehicles with tire wear or high pulling torque.
